Representatives of the Youth Political Science Association on a Working Visit to Ukraine

A representative of our organization took part in a productive meeting with the Ukrainian Institute for International Politics, a partner organization of the Political Science Institute (formerly MAPN) since 2018.

The two delegations were able to exchange good practices and knowledge in the field of youth policy.

Since 2018, our hosts have been part of the “National Youth Capital of Ukraine” competition, together with the Ministry of Youth. More than 50 cities took part in the very first edition.

The first city to win the title, Lviv, is already a finalist in the race for European Youth Capital.

This year Ukraine adopted a new Youth Law, which includes:

  • A definition of the concept of “youth worker”;
  • A definition of the concept of “youth center”;
  • Regulation of the work of the National Youth Advisory Council to the Council of Ministers, chaired by the Prime Minister of Ukraine;
  • A guaranteed national fund for youth activities, accessible not only to NGOs but also to informal groups and even individuals;

The meeting was also attended by representatives from Armenia (which also holds a National Youth Capital competition), Bulgaria, Italy, and Ukraine.
