The first part of the event presented the vision, goals, and new management board of the Association. Greetings were extended by a friend of the Association, Dan Shomon, an American political consultant and head of Barack Obama’s campaign; Prof. Rumyana Kolarova, Chair of the Bulgarian Political Science Association; Assoc. Prof. Blaga Blagoeva, Head of the Department of Political Science at UNWE; and Assoc. Prof. Aleksey Petrov, Head of the Department of Political Science and National Security at Plovdiv University “Paisii Hilendarski.”
The second part of the event was devoted to a discussion with Vladimir Petrović, Serbia’s Ambassador to the United States from 2009 to 2013; Prof. Rumen Kanchev, an expert in international security and geopolitics; and attorney Irina Abadzhieva–Repuc. The topic was the Three Seas Initiative and the role of the Balkan countries in it. During the discussion, the key aspects of the Initiative and the prospects it holds for the Balkan countries were outlined.
