🔝The Youth Political Science Association organized a visit to the National Assembly for students of Political Science at New Bulgarian University, hosted by former Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov.
📚The students had the opportunity to learn about the work of the National Assembly, to hear the Members of Parliament debate the changes to the Electoral Code, and to learn more about the history of the institution.
🗣 In the “West” Hall of the National Assembly, the NBU students held an extremely productive discussion on current political topics. Together with Mr. Mitov, they discussed Bulgaria’s accession to the Eurozone and Schengen. They weighed the advantages and disadvantages of machine voting versus the paper ballot, and shared their views on the war in Ukraine, Bulgaria’s position, and the challenges facing Europe. Daniel Mitov explained to the students how a bill makes its way through the legislative process and is adopted.
👏We thank Dr. Irena Todorova, lecturer in the Department of Political Science at NBU, for her assistance, support, and good communication!
